After 34 years as a Process Engineering in the steel industry, I am now trying my hand at writing fiction – Science Fiction at the moment.
I grew up in Lobethal, a town near Adelaide in South Australia. I went to primary school there and then Concordia College in Adelaide to complete my secondary school education. I went on to Adelaide University to complete a degree in Chemical Engineering.
I spent 13 years working as a Process Engineer at the steelworks in Whyalla, South Australia. I then moved to Wollongong, New South Wales, Australia where I worked on installing and modifying steel strip processing lines both in Australia and overseas. I have worked in Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, China and India and have visited many other countries in the process as part of the projects I have been involved with. I have left that industry after almost 22 years and still live in Wollongong with my wife and family although my daughter has married and lives nearby.
I am still involved in engineering projects of interest from time to time, which takes me away from writing, but I love helping people solve their process engineering issues.
I have always loved reading. I read almost anything but especially enjoy science fiction and fantasy. So I have decided to give writing a go and draw on my many experiences in my working career – which have been many and incredible at times! I have also had many other experiences to draw on which are at times funny and interesting.
